Why We Built It

Why we built Banff By Bus

Working in local hospitality, we saw the same challenge again and again: travellers arrived excited to experience the Canadian Rockies, but unsure how to get around. They did not always know which routes needed to be booked in advance, whether they needed a car, how to get to places like Moraine Lake, or which provider would best suit their plans.

When Moraine Lake Road closed to personal vehicles in 2023, that confusion became even more visible. The issue was not a lack of transportation options—it was the lack of one clear place to understand and compare them.

Banff By Bus was built to make that part of the trip simpler, so travellers can spend less time planning and more time experiencing the Canadian Rockies.

How we choose and present operators

Every operator listed on Banff By Bus is manually reviewed before being added to the platform.

Our partners must:

  • Be licensed and eligible to operate in the Bow Valley and Banff National Park
  • Have been operating for at least one year
  • Demonstrate reliable service and clear customer information
  • Provide transparent pricing
  • Hold a direct partnership agreement with Banff By Bus
No hidden fees

Transparent by design

All bookings are completed directly on the operator's secure website

  • We do not add booking fees or mark up prices
  • You pay the same published price as booking directly with the operator
  • Operators pay Banff By Bus a small commission only after a confirmed booking
